Step 2. Philosophic Building Blocks

Expect Success

You may certainly hope for success when the whole trend of your thinking and the whole trend of your action is strongly directed to this single purpose only, when you have resolutely subordinated personal feelings and temperamental predilections to the solution of the problem of truth.

3.2.2.632014-02-22

If he comes to the quest with his whole being, turning every side of it to the quest’s light and discipline, he may confidently expect the full insight, the full transformation…

2.1.5.353, Excerpt2018-04-29

If he accepts the hand of opportunity when it is offered him, the effects will be favourable in every direction. If he feels the premonition that he is on the verge of a new cycle, and makes decisions or acts accordingly, the way into it will open out for him.

9.13.2.1992016-02-25

Some self other than his familiar one will rise up within him, some force — ennobling, masterful, and divine — will control him.

14.22.2.762018-04-07

A good deal of achievement goes on in the silent solitude of our own hearts, unnoticed and unknown to other men; one day it blossoms into irresistible action, and then the world wonders why.

14.22.2.432013-10-28

Within is mastery, within is colossal power–but you have not yet touched it. However little you have so far accomplished you can still do big things.

2.1.5.232017-08-14

The divine soul in us is utterly above and unaffected by the sense impressions. If we become conscious of it, we also become conscious of a supersensual order of existence.

14.22.3.3432017-04-23

When this contact with the Overself is established, its power will work for you: you will no longer go through the struggles of life alone.

14.22.3.982010-10-29

Hidden under its miseries, life keeps incredible happiness waiting for one who will search and work for it.

15.24.1.1002011-07-29

The timetable of a seeker’s advance depends on several factors, but without doubt the most important of them all is the strength of the longing within his heart for the Highest.

3.2.9.582011-12-17

He must look forward hopefully to the day when he can actually feel the higher self present within all his activity. It will reign in his inner world and thus be the real doer of his actions, not the ego in the outer world.

14.22.2.732011-08-20

There is hope for all because there is Grace for all. No man is so sinful that he cannot find forgiveness, cleansing, and renewal.

12.18.5.932017-08-29

The divine soul dwells in every man. Therefore, every man may find it, if only he will apply the faculties he possesses.

2.1.2.4482017-04-01

The truth will be given us: we shall not be left to starve for it. But it will be given according to our capacity to receive it.

2.1.5.742018-01-11

… The more he looks in things and to persons for his happiness, the less he is likely to find it. The more he looks in Mind for it, the more he is likely to find it. But as man needs things and persons to make his existence tolerable, the mystery is that when he has found his happiness in Mind they both have a way of coming to him of their own accord to complete it.

12.18.4.143, Excerpt2019-06-30

The giving up of all earthly desires, the liberation of the heart from all animal passions, the letting go of all egoistic grasping–these attitudes will arise spontaneously and grow naturally if a man is truly quest-minded, so that his intuition will assert itself little by little.

14.22.1.762012-10-15

If there were no possibility of finding one’s way from this body-prisoned, time-encased condition, then no one would ever have become self-realized, and all preaching of religion and teaching of philosophy would have been futile. But we know from history and biography that such achievement has been experienced in all parts of the world and in all centuries, so that no one should give up hope.

2.1.5.1702019-07-23

The Overself–when you are fortunate enough to find it–will provide for and protect you, comfort and support you.

12.18.4.1622016-02-15

… Although this goal is not easy to obtain, he must refuse to give up hope. The path is right by itself, and in allying himself with it, he is allying himself with what is, after all, the greatest force in the world.

2.1.5.85, Excerpt2013-11-30

The egocentric view of ordinary men is not final. One day they will evolve to the cosmic view.

6.8.1.1202018-04-05

When his last thought at night and first thought in the morning refers to the Overself, he may appraise his progress as excellent.
